The Experience

The boat leaves Sorrento at 8:15 AM, and the first thing you notice is how small the group is — just 12 people on a comfortable boat with an English-speaking skipper. By the time the tour buses are rolling into Positano, you're already past Marina Grande, watching the old fishing village slide by, and heading toward the Baths of Queen Giovanna, where Roman ruins sit half-submerged near the cliffs. At the end, there's a final toast with local limoncello while you're heading back to Sorrento in the late afternoon. The whole thing takes about eight hours, and you return to the port in central Sorrento, which is well-connected if you need transport back to your hotel (available on request).
