The Experience

The first thing I noticed was the color—the sea off Sorrento is this blue that almost hurts your eyes. We climbed onto Salvatore’s old fishing boat just after 8:30, still yawning. He grinned and handed us coffee in plastic cups (strong enough to wake the dead). The engine rumbled low as we pulled away from Marina Grande.
