Boat tour around Capri from Sorrento: swim, caves & lunch
Eight hours circling Capri: four caves, the Faraglioni, swimming stops and a walk through town
This eight-hour shared boat tour departs Sorrento at 9am and circles the entire island of Capri, visiting the White, Green and Del Corallo grottos plus the Faraglioni rock formations. You swim at multiple stops along the way, snorkel with provided equipment, and stop for a caprese lunch at a seaside restaurant before spending three to four hours walking freely through Capri's town center. The boat returns to Sorrento around 5pm with a final swimming stop on the way back.
The Experience
The boat leaves the port of Sorrento at 9am near Bar Ruccio, skirting the Sorrento peninsula before reaching Capri. Once there, the tour moves through the White, Green and Del Corallo caves in sequence—each one a different shade of water and rock—then passes the Faraglioni, the three stacked rock formations that rise from the sea. The entire circumnavigation takes the morning and early afternoon, with stops built in specifically for swimming and snorkeling whenever the boat pauses.
Snorkeling gear is provided, and you can use it at any of the swimming stops along the route. The boat carries a free bar with soft drinks, beer and homemade limoncello. Around midday, you stop for lunch at Le Sirene restaurant, where a caprese sandwich (mozzarella, tomato, basil and olive oil) is included. After eating, you have three to four hours to walk through Capri's town center on your own—shops, cafes and the main piazza are all within reach on foot.
The Blue Grotto is included only if the waiting time is under 30 minutes; if you want to enter regardless of the queue, there is an extra charge of 14 euros paid at the municipal ticket office on the spot. The boat returns to Sorrento around 5pm, with one more swimming stop on the return journey. A guide speaks English, Spanish or Italian throughout the day. An embarkation and disembarkation fee of 5 euros per person applies at both Sorrento and Capri ports.
