The experience

The boat leaves Nerano at 9:00am (or 11:15am on the late departure), and the first stop is a sail around Li Galli, the small islands where myth says Ulysses encountered the Sirens. From there you head to Amalfi, the ancient Marine Republic, where you have three hours to move at your own pace: time enough to see the Cathedral and the Cloister of Paradise, or to climb to Ravello if you want the Villa Rufolo and its gardens. The guide on board gives live commentary in English and Italian as you travel between stops.

After Amalfi, the boat sails toward Positano, passing the Fiordo di Furore and the old town of Praiano on the way. You'll spend roughly two hours in Positano itself, a vertical town of pastel houses stacked up the hillside: enough time to walk the narrow alleys, find a café, or sit on the beach. On the return to Nerano, you'll see the Fiordo di Crapolla and the Islet d'Isca, which belonged to the writer Eduardo de Filippo. The whole day runs eight hours from pickup to port.

Hotel pickup starts 90 minutes before the boat departs, so if you take the 9:00am sailing, you'll be collected around 7:30am depending on where you're staying. The tour price includes all taxes, fees and fuel. You arrange your own meals and drinks on the stops. Children must be with an adult, and infants sit on a lap. The boat suits all fitness levels.
