The experience
How do you see three of the Amalfi Coast's most famous towns without spending the day stuck in traffic? This tour trades the coastal road for a boat, letting you watch the cliffs and villages slide past while you stay on deck. You start with a transfer to the port at Piano di Sorrento, then sail east along the Sorrento coast with Mount Vesuvius visible in the distance. The boat passes the Baths of Queen Giovanna (a complex of historical pools and caves carved into the rock), and continues to Li Galli, the legendary island of the Sirens, before drifting through Crapolla Fjord.
Once you reach Amalfi, you step off for free time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage town and its cathedral of Saint Andrew. If you've chosen the Ravello option, a bus takes you up into the hills for a visit to Villa Rufolo and its gardens overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. If not, you have more time to wander Amalfi's waterfront. Either way, you return to the port and sail to Positano, the pearl of the coast, where you have an hour to walk the narrow streets, browse the small shops and see the colorful pottery the town is known for. The return journey is a chance to rest on deck before the transfer back to Sorrento.
The tour runs 8 to 9 hours and includes a live guide who speaks English, Spanish or Italian. Headsets let you hear the commentary clearly even on deck. Pickup from your Sorrento accommodation is available depending on which option you select at checkout. Infants can travel in a stroller, and the pace suits all fitness levels.
