The experience
Your driver picks you up from your hotel and takes you south to Padang Padang Beach first, a white-sand cove tucked below rock cliffs with calm water for swimming. The beach gained fame after a scene was filmed there, and it stays quieter than the crowded northern strips. From there, the route heads to Tanah Lot Temple, a working shrine built on a volcanic rock formation that rises from the ocean. You can walk the temple grounds, see the tropical gardens, and if you time it right, join visitors at the blessing ceremony held at the holy spring at the base of the rock.
The final stop is Uluwatu Temple, perched on a cliff above the Indian Ocean on Bali's southwestern tip. Monkeys roam the forest around it, and the temple itself sits high enough that the ocean stretches out below you. Stay for the Kecak and fire dance performance, which happens as the sun sets. The Kecak tells the Ramayana story with over a hundred dancers creating the rhythmic "kecak" sound, and the show includes a fire dance finale. After the performance, your driver takes you back to your hotel.
The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking driver, entrance tickets, a bottle of mineral water, and travel insurance. If you book at least three days ahead, airport pickup or drop-off is free. You choose your departure time at checkout: morning slots run at 9am, 10am, or 11am depending on what fits your schedule.
