The experience
The day starts at your hotel and moves through Ubud's most photographed landscapes. Tegalalang Rice Terrace comes first: the terraced paddies that define the region visually. Then the Sacred Monkey Forest, where gray macaques move through Hindu temples nested in the forest canopy. Your guide leads you through both, explaining what you're seeing as you go.
Batuan Temple sits inland and holds an older architecture than many others in the area. The Wantilan, an ancient meeting hall inside, was used for dance practice. Your guide can point out the history written into the building itself. From there, the route heads toward the coast and Tanah Lot Temple, which rises from a rocky outcrop in the sea. The temple sits on the beach, and the timing of this tour is built around reaching it as the sun drops, when the light changes the whole scene.
Lunch is included during the day. The car is air-conditioned, and your driver speaks English and knows the route well enough to answer questions as you move between stops. Hotel pickup and drop-off bracket the whole experience, so you don't arrange transport separately. Entrance fees to each site are covered, and bottled water travels with you.
Is this one for you?Your guide speaks English throughout, so you follow the commentary and ask questions as you move through each site. The private car means the pace is yours to set, and the customizable itinerary lets you spend more time where your interest is strongest.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Sacred Monkey Forest actually like when you walk through it?
The Sacred Monkey Forest is a temple complex set inside a forest where gray macaques live freely among the shrines and stone structures. You walk through the trees on paths that pass both the monkeys and the temples, so the two exist side by side rather than separately.
Can I spend more time at one stop and less at another?
Yes, the itinerary is customizable. You work with your guide on the day to adjust how long you stay at each place, so if one site interests you more, you can linger there and move faster through another.
What is Tegalalang Rice Terrace used for, or is it just for photos?
Tegalalang is an active rice-growing area, not a tourist-only landscape. The terraced paddies are farmed, and the stepped design you see is the traditional method of growing rice on hillsides. It's photographed often because the geometry is striking, but it's a working agricultural space.
Does the tour actually end at Tanah Lot Temple, or is that just one more stop?
Tanah Lot Temple is the last place you visit, and the tour is timed so you arrive as the sun sets. The temple sits on a rock in the sea, and the sunset view is the final moment of the day before your driver takes you back to your hotel.
How much walking is involved across the whole day?
You walk through the Monkey Forest and around each temple site, but the distances are moderate. Most of the day is spent moving between locations by car, with walking at each stop rather than long treks between them.
