The experience
The day starts with early pickup from your hotel and a transfer to Bangalore airport for the 6am flight to Jaipur. You land around 8am and head into the Pink City. The tour moves through four major sites: Hawa Mahal, the five-story Palace of the Winds built in 1799 with its distinctive pink sandstone and honeycombed windows; Amber Fort, perched on a ridge outside the city with the celebrated Sheesh Mahal inside, where mirrors cover both walls and ceiling to reflect light across the entire hall; Jal Mahal, the Water Palace sitting in the center of Man Sarovar lake; and City Palace, the former royal residence blending Rajasthani and Mughal architecture with carved arches, ornate columns and marble elephants at the entrance.
Lunch is on your own at a local restaurant partway through the day. Time permitting, there is an opportunity to shop for Jaipur's known goods: gemstones, silver jewelry, bangles, blue pottery and textiles. In the evening, after the full city tour, you're transferred to Jaipur airport for the return flight to Bangalore, arriving back for hotel drop-off the same night.
