Winery Tour & Wine Tasting in France: Learn from the Winemaker
Two hours in the barrel room and on the vineyard deck, learning how the wine gets made
A winery tour in France led by Joe O'Connell, the winemaker himself, where you walk the full operation, taste wines straight from barrel and tank, and sit down to three wines paired with a deli plate. The guide speaks English or French, and the tour runs two hours. Minimum age is 15.
The Experience
What does it actually take to grow a vine and turn it into wine? Joe O'Connell, who does the work every season, walks you through it. You'll see the barrel room, learn about pruning and growth from someone who has done both, and taste the wines as they develop—straight from the barrel and tank, not just the finished bottle. The winery sits in France, and the tour moves at the pace of real explanation, not a rush through a gift shop.
After the walk, you settle on the deck with a deli plate and three wines in front of you. The portions are generous enough that you leave satisfied, not sampling-sized. You'll meet other wine people and foodies in the group, and by the end of two hours you understand the story behind what's in your glass—the vineyard decisions, the fermentation choices, the reason this wine tastes the way it does. That's the kind of detail that sticks with you when you're back home.
What’s included
- Full winery tour with access to the barrel room and fermentation tanks.
- three wines tasted during the walk and three more with your deli plate.
