The Experience

I’ll never forget how our Egyptologist, Ahmed, greeted us at Cairo Airport—he just smiled and handed me a tiny cup of cardamom coffee before I’d even found my bag. “You look tired,” he said, which was true. The next day at the Giza Pyramids, it hit me—these blocks are huge. Standing under the shadow of Khufu’s pyramid felt surreal, and there was this weird quiet despite all the visitors.
