Horseback riding and ATV adventure in Punta Cana combines a guided 15-minute horse ride with off-road driving on your own ATV or buggy through Dominican farmland, a water cave, and Macao Beach. You choose between a shared vehicle or individual ATV at checkout. Round-trip transportation, tastings of local products, and a guide in multiple languages are included. Children from age 3 are welcome, though drivers must be 17 or older.

The experience

After pickup and a short drive to the ranch, you'll get a safety briefing, then mount a horse for a 15-minute ride through views of Dominican agriculture led by a guide. When you return, you switch to your own ATV or buggy (or share one, depending on which option you booked), and head out in a caravan across rough roads winding between forests and gardens. The guide leads. You drive.

Your first stop is an organic farm where you taste local products: coffee, chocolate, green tea, and cigars, plus mamajuana if you're 18 or older. From there, you drive to a water cave 25 feet deep, where you can swim in the refreshing water before heading to Macao Beach. The limestone cliffs frame the sand and waves, and there's time to relax before the ride back to the ranch and your return transportation.

The whole experience runs about four hours. A live guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and one additional language, so communication is straightforward. Helmets are provided. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses yourself.

The farm offers tastings of coffee, chocolate, green tea, and cigars. Mamajuana is also available if you're at least 18 years old. These are Dominican products grown and made locally.

Is there time to actually swim in the water cave, or is it just a quick look?

You have time to enjoy the cave and swim in its refreshing water before moving on to Macao Beach. It's not a rushed stop.

What's the minimum age to drive the ATV?

You must be at least 17 years old to operate the ATV or buggy. Children from age 3 are welcome on the experience but will ride with an adult.
