The experience

You get picked up from your Doha hotel in an air-conditioned Land Cruiser and driven out to the desert plains. Once the vehicle reaches the sand, the guide adjusts the tyre pressure so the 4x4 can grip instead of sink. This is what makes dune bashing possible. Then the real ride starts: the vehicle climbs and descends the tallest dunes in the region, and you feel every drop. After the dune bashing, you have the option to try sandboarding with a wooden board provided. You glide across the sand plains on your own.

The camel ride comes next, a slower pace after the intensity of the dunes. You move across the desert at the animal's pace and get photos with the landscape behind you. The route also includes a stop at the Inland Sea, one of the best photo spots in the region. Throughout the day you get local tea and unlimited water. The guide is a licensed professional who speaks English and knows the terrain. Once the activities are done, the vehicle takes you back to your starting point in Doha.

The whole experience is 5 hours including pickup and drop-off. You can choose between a shared tour or a group tour, and you can add a quad bike ride or a camel ride as separate options at checkout.
