Six food stops and a chocolate you make yourself, not a menu you watch someone else plate.

A food tasting activity in Miraflores, Lima where you visit six restaurants and market stalls, taste over 15 Peruvian dishes, and make chocolate at ChocoMuseo during a hands-on workshop. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with a professional guide in English, Spanish or Portuguese. The experience runs three to four hours and welcomes children from age one.

3h–4h

Step-by-step itinerary

Explore Miraflores culinary delights

  • Visit Kennedy Park and Rincon Chami
  • Walk to seafood restaurant Huascar
  • Explore Miraflores Local Market
  • Taste exotic fruits and lucuma smoothie
  • Dine at El Sillar with slow cooked lamb
  • Attend chocolate workshop at ChocoMuseo

The Experience

You start at Kennedy Park in Miraflores, the neighborhood's cat park with over 200 cats, and walk into Rincon Chami for papa a la huancaina and ocopa — two sauces built on yellow pepper, fresh cheese and black mint that define Peruvian cooking. From there you move through the district on foot, stopping at Huascar for ceviche made in five minutes, then into the Miraflores Local Market where you taste exotic fruits — granadillas, cactus fruits, chirimoyas, nonis and camu camus — and drink a lucuma smoothie, the superfood blended with honey and molasses. The walk itself is part of the day; you are not being driven between stops.

At El Sillar you taste seco de cordero, slow-cooked lamb with cilantro sauce and beans, and by the time you reach ChocoMuseo Miraflores you have moved through five different restaurants and markets. The chocolate workshop is where the day changes from tasting to making: you learn how cacao beans become chocolate bars, then make your own creation and eat it while you are still there. This is not a demonstration you watch; you are the one working with the chocolate.

Dietary needs are handled — vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available at each stop. The guide is live and speaks your language. Hotel pickup and drop-off mean you do not navigate Lima's transport or figure out where to go next; the route is set and the timing holds together across three to four hours.
