The Experience

The tour starts in central Miraflores and heads first to El Chinito, a huarique (traditional eatery) where you taste different cuts of ham, pork and chicken, with Criollo tamales and chicharrón as the main events. From there you bike through Miraflores streets toward the pier, where the route opens onto views of the sea, beaches and cliffs before dropping into San Isidro's District Market. That stop teaches you how the altitudinal floors of Peru produce different crops — you'll taste native fresh fruits straight from the vendors.

Back in Miraflores, a short pause at Café Buena Vista's viewpoint lets you see the limestone coast while sharing experiences over nuts and chocolates. Then comes Cremoladas Curich, run by a family of European immigrants, where exotic fruit creams are the draw. Your final food stop is Mustache Corner, a seafood spot where you order a dish of fresh clams before the route loops back to Miraflores Center. The whole outing runs about three and a half hours.

You get a bike, helmet and pads for the ride; the guide speaks English or Spanish and leads the stops. Hotel transfers are not included, so you'll need to get to Miraflores Center on your own to meet the group.
