Step-by-step itinerary

  • Visit Kennedy Park in Miraflores
  • Explore Huaca Pucllana archaeological site
  • Bike from Buena Vista Cafe along seaside
  • See Faro de La Marina lighthouse
  • View paragliding at Paraport

  • Enjoy Barranco seaside and street art
  • Visit Bridge of Sighs
  • Relax at Barranco plaza

The Experience

Miraflores is where Lima's seaside character shows itself — Kennedy Park sits at the district's center, and from there the route follows the coast through Buena Vista toward the Bridge of Sighs, passing the Faro de La Marina (a lighthouse designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1900) and Larcomar, a shopping complex perched above the Pacific. You'll stop at Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca temple built around 1500 years ago, still standing in the middle of the neighborhood. The guide talks through the history and culture as you ride, and you get views of the ocean the whole way.

From Miraflores the route moves into Barranco, Lima's bohemian district, where the streets narrow and the street art takes over. You'll see the Bridge of Sighs and Barranco Plaza, and the guide can point out where to eat and what the neighborhood is known for. The pace is active but not racing — you're on a bike, not in a car, so you notice the details. At the end, the guide will direct you to a spot for a free beer, a local tradition in Barranco.

All equipment comes with you: the bike, helmet, water bottle and mechanical assistance if something goes wrong. The guide is trained in safety and accident response. Bring an ID, dress for the weather (the tour runs rain or shine), and plan on three to four hours total.

What’s included

  • Use of a bike and helmet.
  • one 625 ml bottle of water.
  • a trained guide in English, Spanish or Italian.
  • mechanical assistance if needed.
  • a complimentary beer in Barranco at the end of the ride.

Is this one for you?The three to four hour pace means you're moving steadily but stopping to look — not a sprint, not a leisurely roll. Dress for Lima's weather and bring an ID; the route runs in all conditions, so rain won't cancel it.

Top questions

What is Huaca Pucllana and why is it on this bike route?

Huaca Pucllana is a pre-Inca temple built around 1500 years ago, located in the middle of Miraflores. The route stops there so you can see the structure and learn its history from the guide before continuing toward the coast.

Do I need to bring my own bike, or is one provided?

The tour includes a bike, helmet, water bottle and all mechanical assistance — you don't bring your own or arrange anything. Just show up ready to ride.

What neighborhoods will I actually see on this ride?

You'll bike through Miraflores first, covering Kennedy Park, the coastal stretch past the Faro de La Marina and Larcomar, then move into Barranco, where street art and the bohemian character of the district are the focus. Both neighborhoods sit on Lima's Pacific coast.

Is there food included, or do I need to eat before the tour?

Food is not included in the tour price, though the guide will recommend places to eat in Barranco. A complimentary beer is included at the end in Barranco, and you'll get one bottle of water during the ride.

What language does the guide speak?

The guide conducts the tour in English, Spanish or Italian — you'll choose your language when you book.

How fit do I need to be to do this tour?

The operator asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness. The tour is three to four hours of active biking on city streets and coastal paths, so you should be comfortable on a bike for that length of time.
