Ride past 1,500-year-old adobe ruins and through olive groves instead of sitting in a tour van

Step-by-step itinerary

Explore Lima by bike and market visit

  • Meet at Miraflores for safety briefing
  • Visit Huaca Pucllana archaeological site
  • Cycle through parks in San Isidro
  • Stop at Surquillo Market for fruit tasting
  • Ride along Miraflores boardwalk
  • Enjoy coffee with ocean view at Beso Francés

The Experience

The ride starts at 9:30 am from Miraflores with a safety briefing and a rundown of the route ahead. You'll cycle through Parque el Olivar in San Isidro, where over 1,500 olive trees—some more than 300 years old—line quiet walkways and ponds. The park sits in the middle of the city but feels removed from it, and the bike lets you cover the ground without the pace of a walking tour wearing you down.

Next comes Huaca Pucllana, an adobe pyramid built by the Lima culture over 1,500 years ago. Your guide walks you through the site and explains what you're standing in front of—the scale of it, the engineering, the layers of history. On Tuesdays, when Huaca Pucllana closes, you visit Huaca Huallamarca instead, another pre-Columbian ruin in the same neighborhood. After the ruins, you stop at Surquillo market to sample fresh exotic fruits and drink a juice made on the spot, tasting what locals eat rather than what a restaurant serves tourists.

The route then takes you along the Miraflores boardwalk, where the Pacific comes into view and the pace slows. You finish with a coffee break at Beso Francés, a café in Miraflores with a view of the ocean. The whole loop is 3 hours on the bike, which means you see more ground than a walking tour covers but move at a speed that lets you actually look around.
