Pasta & Tiramisu Cooking Class in Milan: Family Recipes
You make the pasta, you make the dessert, you eat it all together.
A three-hour hands-on cooking class in a private Milanese home where you prepare fresh tagliatelle, handmade ravioli and authentic tiramisu using family recipes passed down through generations. Grandmother Bruna or one of her trained children teaches in English; the class ends with dinner and wine in the home's art-filled rooms. Children are welcome from age seven.
The Experience
What do you actually make in a cooking class in Milan? Here you prepare fresh tagliatelle entirely from scratch, shape ravioli with a Michelin-inspired filling, and build tiramisu layer by layer using the family recipe. The class runs three hours in the home itself—a Milanese apartment on Via Giuseppe Dezza, just 20 meters from the Blue Metro Line (M4)—so there's no commute to a cooking school or a studio kitchen. Grandmother Bruna trained at the Paul Bocuse Institute in France, as did her grandchildren, but the recipes you're learning are the ones that came before that: the ones her own grandmother made.
You cook alongside your instructor, not watching a demonstration. The home is filled with antique furniture and the family's private art collection, so the setting itself is part of what you're there for—the sense of being a guest in a real place rather than a paying visitor in a classroom. About twelve hours before your class, you'll get an email with your instructor's name. If Grandmother Bruna isn't teaching that day, one of her children or grandchildren will be there with the same recipes and the same techniques.
When the cooking is done, you sit down to eat. The meal is the pasta you made, the ravioli you shaped, the tiramisu you layered—finished with wine and water. There's no separate restaurant meal, no ordering from a menu. You eat what you cooked, in the room where you cooked it.
What’s included
- Bottled water.
- wine and dinner (the meal you've prepared).
- instruction in English.
- recipes to take home.

Is this one for you?The class runs three hours straight, with no breaks between cooking and eating, so you're on your feet and focused the whole time. Book this if you want to actually make the food rather than watch someone else make it, and if you're comfortable learning in a family home instead of a professional kitchen.
