The experience
You arrive at a Cesarina's home in Milan and step into a working kitchen where you'll spend the afternoon or morning learning to cook. Each participant gets a workstation with all the utensils and ingredients ready. The Cesarina guides you through three authentic Milan recipes: a seasonal starter, a main course (Pizzoccheri, Risotto, or Lasagna, depending on the day), and a dessert like Sbrisolona cake or Tiramisu. You're not watching a demonstration. You're doing the cooking, learning the tricks and techniques as you go.
Once everything is prepared, you sit down to taste the three dishes you've made, accompanied by a selection of local red and white wines and coffee. The whole experience runs three hours. Cesarine are home cooks from Italy's network of over 1,000 hosts across more than 120 cities, and they open their own kitchens to travelers looking for a real culinary experience, not a commercial class.
You can choose a morning or afternoon departure to fit the rest of your day in Milan. Public transportation options are available nearby to reach the home. The guide speaks English or Italian, and all beverages (water, wine, and coffee) are included.
