The experience
The day starts at Mycenae, the palace complex of the mythical Kingdom of Agamemnon and the seat of one of Greek prehistory's most advanced cultures. You walk through the Lions Gate, the monumental entrance to the palaces, then see the Cyclopean walls that ring the Acropolis and the royal tholos tombs: the Treasury of Atreus, a 14th-century BC structure, and the burial chambers of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. The site sits on a ridge overlooking the Argive plain, and the scale of the stonework makes the age of the place tangible.
A brief stop at the Corinth Canal follows, where you see the narrow waterway that cuts through the isthmus and connects the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf. Then you move into Ancient Corinth itself, walking among the remains of the 6th-century temple of Apollo and the steps where Apostle Paul preached. The temple's Doric columns still stand, and the site carries layers of both Greek and Roman history.
The tour ends at Epidaurus, home to the Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the best-preserved ancient theatres in Greece and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The theatre is renowned for its acoustics and its semicircular design carved into the hillside. Nearby stands the Asclepieion, the sanctuary dedicated to Asklepios, the god of healing, which served as the medical and spiritual centre for the whole of ancient Greece. The temple of Asklepios, the Tholos, and other structures around it reveal how pilgrims came here seeking cures for serious illness.

What exactly is the Lions Gate at Mycenae?
The Lions Gate is the monumental entrance to the Mycenaean palaces, a massive stone gateway carved with a relief of two lions facing each other above the lintel. It is the oldest monumental sculpture in Europe and marks the threshold to the royal complex.
Can I walk inside the Theatre of Epidaurus, or do I just see it from outside?
The Theatre of Epidaurus is open for exploration. You walk through the seating area and down to the orchestra floor. The theatre's famous acoustics mean sound carries clearly from the stage to every seat, even in the highest rows.
How long is the drive from Nafplion to Mycenae?
Mycenae lies about 30 kilometres south of Nafplion. The drive takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and the exact pickup point in Nafplion.
Are the archaeological site tickets included in the tour price?
Site tickets are optional and available as an add-on at checkout. If you choose to add them, entry to Mycenae, Ancient Corinth, and Epidaurus is covered. Without them, you see the sites from outside or in limited access areas.
What is the Asclepieion, and why is it important?
The Asclepieion is the sanctuary and healing centre dedicated to Asklepios, god of medicine and son of Apollo. It was the most famous medical sanctuary in ancient Greece, where people travelled seeking cures for serious diseases. The temple of Asklepios, the circular Tholos building, and other structures around it show how pilgrims were treated and housed during their stay.
