The Experience

The audio guide cuts out twice on the drive—once somewhere past the Corinth Canal, once heading into Nafplio—but honestly, that's when the driver and the escort fill in the gaps, and you get the real story instead of the recorded one. The drive back to Athens takes about two hours, and by then you've crossed the Peloponnese twice and seen enough stone and history to fill a week of conversation.
