The experience

The day begins with pickup from your hotel, then the Sina Dream sets sail from Sharm el Sheikh's port at 9:00 am. Once you reach Ras Mohamed National Park, you'll snorkel one or two sessions depending on wind conditions. The coral reef here is where most of the morning goes, and the guide will direct you to the best spots. The water is clear enough that the reef structure and the fish moving through it are visible from the surface, and the sessions are paced so you're not rushed.

After Ras Mohamed, the boat heads to White Island, a sand strip in the middle of the Red Sea that looks nothing like the mainland. The water there is shallower and more turquoise than the reef sites. On the return journey from the island, the crew sets up water activities. A hanging chair you can swing from and a waist harness that lets you walk across the surface of the water. These are optional, but they break up the boat time and give you something to do besides sit. Freshly prepared seafood cream soup arrives first, then the premium seafood open buffet is served while you're heading back.

Soda, water, coffee and tea are available throughout the trip. You'll need to bring or rent your own snorkeling equipment. The yacht does not provide masks, fins or snorkels. Wear reef-safe sunscreen and a rash guard if you burn easily, since the sun reflects off the water and the boat offers limited shade. Infants must sit on an adult's lap during the ride.
