The experience
The day starts with hotel pickup in Sharm el Sheikh and a drive south into the Sinai Desert. A jeep takes you off-road to the Colored Canyon, where you walk through narrow passages between sandstone walls striped in rust, gold and cream. The canyon's rock formations create natural corridors and photo spots. A guide explains the geology as you move through. The whole canyon visit takes a couple of hours before you head back to the vehicle.
From there, you continue to the Blue Hole National Park, one of the Red Sea's most famous snorkeling sites. The beach is your base: you can rest on the sand or enter the water with snorkeling gear to explore the coral reefs and fish. Snorkeling equipment is available to rent locally if you don't bring your own. The water is clear and the reef is close to shore, so you don't need to swim far. A professional guide is with the group throughout.
Lunch happens in a traditional Bedouin tent on the beach in Dahab. A BBQ meal that is part of the tour. After eating, you have free time to walk through Dahab's local markets, browse shops, or sit by the water. The return journey to Sharm el Sheikh takes the same route back through the desert. A camel ride along the sea is included at some point during the day, adding another moment outside the vehicle.
