The experience

The day starts with hotel pickup and a short transfer to the quad center in the desert. After a safety briefing and a test ride to get comfortable with the machine, you ride your quad bike or buggy for 15 minutes across the open desert landscape toward the camel area. The ride itself is the point. You're steering through sand and stone, not watching from a seat, and the instructors stay with you the whole time to help if you need it.

A short camel ride follows, then you settle into a Bedouin tent for tea and fresh bread made right in front of you by local Bedouins. Another 10-minute quad ride takes you to the dinner area, where a buffet of grilled Bedouin food waits: meat and vegetarian options, with vegan and gluten-free versions available. The meal comes with unlimited tea and water, one soft drink, and a live show: two of three performances (belly dancer, Tannura spinning man, or fire show) happen most nights.

After dinner, you head to the telescope zone. Before the stargazing begins, everyone shouts into the open desert and listens to their voice echo back from the mountains: a moment that breaks the ice and uses the natural acoustics of the place. Then the astronomy experts take over. You look through large telescopes at Saturn, Jupiter, the moon's craters and the bright constellations visible from the desert. A final 15–20 minute quad ride and transfer back to your hotel closes the evening.
