Diving in Sharm el Sheikh: Ras Mohammed & White Island

Introductory diving in Sharm el Sheikh combines 1 or 2 beginner dives at Ras Mohammed National Park with snorkeling and relaxation at White Island, all on a single boat trip. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included. A professional instructor guides every dive, and no certification is required. You choose between one or two dives at checkout depending on how deep you want to go into the Red Sea.

The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel and a transfer to the marina, where you board a comfortable yacht heading toward Ras Mohammed. Once you arrive at the coral reefs, your instructor walks you through the basics before your first dive. The water is warm, the visibility is clear, and the reefs are packed with colorful fish and coral formations. You stay close to the guide the whole time, moving slowly and stopping to point out what's around you. Between dives you rest on deck with soft drinks and water while the boat stays anchored.

If you book the two-dive option, you get a second descent after the break. If you choose one dive, you move straight to White Island, a shallow-water spot where you can snorkel, swim, or lie on the sand. The boat crew prepares a buffet lunch onboard (hot and cold dishes with soft drinks included), and you eat while anchored in clear water. The return to your hotel happens before sunset, completing a full Red Sea day without needing a diving license or any experience beforehand.

Children under 10 cannot dive but can snorkel at both sites. The yacht is air-conditioned, and all equipment (wetsuit, tank, mask, fins) is provided. Ras Mohammed National Park entrance fees are included in the package, so there are no surprises at the dock.
