The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Phuket hotel in an air-conditioned minivan and heads to the speedboat. Once aboard, the boat cuts across Phang Nga Bay toward Hong Island (Krabi), where you swim and snorkel in water clear enough to see the seabed. The Hong Island viewpoint gives you the geography of what you are floating through: limestone formations rising out of the bay, islands scattered like puzzle pieces. Snorkeling gear is provided. If you want fins, they rent for 200 THB at Royal Phuket Marina.

From there, a sea canoe takes you into Talu Island's hidden coves and sea caves: the kind of narrow passages a motorboat cannot reach. The guide navigates while you paddle or sit and watch, depending on what you choose. Lunch happens at Panyee Island, a working fishing village built on stilts where the restaurant floats above the water. A vegetarian option is available if you request it when booking.

The afternoon swings toward James Bond Island, the limestone stack that starred in "The Man with the Golden Gun" in 1974. You do not land on it (the island is protected), but the speedboat circles close enough to see why it became famous. The tour also covers the unique ecosystems of Hong Island (Phang Nga) and Panak Island within Phang Nga Bay National Park before heading back to Phuket. Bottled water, morning tea, and light refreshments come throughout the day. Travel insurance is included.
