The experience

The boat leaves from Cancun with roundtrip transport already arranged, so you show up at your hotel and the logistics are handled. You'll spend 2 hours in the water across five stops, each one a different underwater landscape. The reef comes first: 8 to 12 feet down, warm and calm, crowded with fish and marine life. Then the MUSA galleries: two separate art installations, "Blessings" and "Vestiges," where statues sit on the seafloor and become part of the reef itself.

The third stop is where most people come for the turtles. The operator reports a 96–98% success rate for spotting them, usually 1 to 5 per trip, and you might also swim near rays. The shipwreck follows: a hull full of coral and multicolored fish, with white sand and clear water that makes it feel like a natural turquoise pool.
