The experience

Hotel pickup from Cancun or the Riviera Maya gets you to Mayan Jungle Rush, where the day opens with ziplining. You'll soar through the trees on a series of ziplines, then cross hanging bridges that test your balance while the forest canopy spreads below. The weight limit for ziplines is 286 pounds. Wear closed shoes for better grip and control on the equipment.

Back on the ground, you trade the harness for an ATV and follow a guide down rugged jungle trails, bumping over rocks and roots through thick forest. Then comes the cenote: a massive limestone cave system carved by freshwater, where you can cliff-jump, zipline again, or take the stairs down into open water. After cooling off, you'll refuel with a light snack and tequila tasting before the return trip to your hotel.

The full outing runs four hours and includes roundtrip transportation, conservation fees, ATV insurance, 30 minutes of horseback riding, and lunch (two cochinita tacos or a vegan snack with water). A live guide speaks English or Spanish. The horseback portion has a weight limit of 264 pounds, and moderate physical fitness is required for the full activity.
