The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel or a meeting point, then heads into the Yucatan wilderness toward three cenotes: natural sinkholes filled with clear water that hold sacred meaning for the Mayan people. At each one, you swim and explore at your own pace. Two of the cenotes have equipment: a zipline to slide across the water, and a jumping platform to leap from. The lifejacket is provided, and you decide how much adrenaline you want.

After the cenotes, the guide walks you through a tequila tasting, explaining the different types and how to taste them properly. You'll eat a traditional Mayan snack and watch a Mayan dance ritual before heading back. The whole outing takes four hours. Morning and afternoon options both include hotel pickup or a meeting point departure. You pick which works for your schedule.

What's the difference between the zipline and the jumping platform at the cenotes?

The zipline lets you slide across the water from one side to the other. The jumping platform is a fixed spot where you leap into the cenote. Both are optional. You can swim without using either one.

Do I need to arrange my own transport, or is pickup included?

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included on both the morning and afternoon tours. If you prefer to meet the group instead, a meeting point option is available at the same price.

What should I bring or wear for swimming in the cenotes?
