ATV quad bike riding in Ubud is a 2-hour activity where you operate the bike yourself through jungle, rice paddies, river crossings and muddy tracks, with a guide leading the way. Lunch at a restaurant with a swimming pool and shower facilities are included after the ride. Hotel pickup is available as an add-on option. Solo riders must be 16 or older, and tandem rides (one adult, one child aged 6–16) are also offered.

The experience

You arrive at the quad basement after hotel pickup (or make your own way if you book without transfer). A welcome drink settles you in, then you register for insurance and get a safety briefing. Boots, helmet and protective gear are provided. The guide runs through the basics (no prior experience is needed), and then you're on the bike.

The ride lasts about 2 hours and takes you through terrain that changes constantly: jungle canopy, open rice fields, river crossings, muddy sections, uphill and downhill stretches, a valley passage and a tunnel carved with a gorilla face where most people stop to photograph. You're operating the quad the whole time, not watching from a passenger seat. The guide stays with you and sets the pace. By the end you'll be wet and muddy. That's the point.

After the ride, you shower and change in the facilities on-site. Lunch follows at a poolside restaurant: nasi goreng ayam, penne carbonara, chicken burger or green curry, with water included. The driver takes you back to your hotel if you booked with transfer. If you came on your own, you leave when you're ready.

Yes. No previous experience is needed. You'll get a safety briefing and introduction to the bike before the ride starts, and the guide stays with you throughout the 2-hour activity to set the pace.

What age can children ride the quad bikes?
