The experience
The boat leaves Sanur Harbor at 9:15 a.m. and crosses to Jungut Batu port on Nusa Lembongan's east side. The crossing takes about 30 minutes and the boat docks directly on the beach, so you'll wade ashore. Once on the island, you move straight into snorkeling. Manta Bay sits on the southwest coast and is the main draw: manta rays patrol these waters, though sightings depend on the season and conditions. The guides know the reef and will position you where the rays tend to pass, but they're wild animals in their natural habitat, so encounters aren't guaranteed. You'll also hit Toyapakeh Wall, a cove on the southeast side with crystal-clear water and dense coral life, and Mangrove Point in the shallows where smaller reef fish gather around the formations.
All snorkeling gear comes with you (mask, snorkel, fins, life vest, and rings), and a guide stays in the water with your group. Non-swimmers can join because the guides act as instructors and the safety equipment keeps you afloat. The operator notes this explicitly. You'll get a trip briefing before entering the water, photos and video shot by the guide, and a towel and shower waiting when you climb out. Lunch happens beachside after the snorkeling stops.
The land portion covers three spots. Devil's Tear is on the southwestern coast where waves crash hard against the rocks and send spray high into the air. Dream Beach sits on the southern shore with white sand and clear water, known for sunsets. The seaweed farms are the quieter stop. A working operation where you'll see how the local community harvests and dries seaweed using methods that haven't changed much. You return to Sanur at 4 p.m., and the fast boat ride back takes the same 30 minutes. Pickup from Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Petitenget, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Sanur is free. If you're staying in Ubud, Canggu, Umalas, Uluwatu, or Padang Padang, there's an additional charge collected in cash at the meeting point.

Is this one for you?Choose the hotel pickup option if you're staying in Kuta or nearby areas on the south coast, since the free zones cover those neighborhoods and you avoid the extra cash charge at the meeting point. If you're based in Ubud, Canggu, or Uluwatu, the additional transfer fee applies regardless, so you're paying for convenience either way. Pick whichever gets you to Sanur on time for the 9:15 a.m. boat.

Can I snorkel if I don't know how to swim?

What are the chances of seeing manta rays at Manta Bay?
Manta Bay has a high chance of manta ray sightings, but they're not guaranteed because manta rays live in their natural habitat and their presence varies with environmental conditions and the season.
What happens if the boat can't dock at Jungut Batu port?
The fast boat docks directly on Jungut Batu Beach on the east side of Nusa Lembongan, so your feet and ankles will get wet when you wade ashore. This is normal and expected for the crossing.

Lunch is beachside and included. You also get a shower and locker access after snorkeling, plus a towel and a welcome drink.
How long is the fast boat ride from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan?
