A day trip for certified divers departing South Bali at 7:45 AM, with 2.5 hours of driving through rice fields to reach Tulamben's dive center. You choose 2 or 3 dives from sites including the USS Liberty shipwreck, Coral Garden, Drop Off, and muck dives at Seraya and Melasti, with full equipment provided and lunch included.

The experience

The drive from South Bali takes about 2.5 hours and passes through some of the most beautiful rice fields on the island. You're picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle around 7:45 AM, and the route covers the south, Ubud and the whole east coast area. Once you arrive in Tulamben, the dive center staff help you select the right equipment and weights before heading out to your chosen dive sites.

Tulamben is built around the USS Liberty, one of the most accessible wrecks in the world and equally good for beginners and experienced divers. The reef around it holds an incredible variety of marine life, and the area is known among underwater photographers. You can also dive Coral Garden, Drop Off, Kubu Shipwreck (the Boga), or the muck dives at Seraya and Melasti: your guide, who lives on location and knows the reef and its inhabitants, helps you pick based on conditions and what you want to see. Groups stay small so every diver gets the attention they need.

The full day includes a set of diving equipment, cylinders, weights, lunch and mineral water. You're back in South Bali by late afternoon. You'll need a minimum Open Water Certification to book, and the Bali Diving Academy recommends a moderate level of physical fitness.
