The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Hyderabad hotel at 3:30am and a drive to the airport for a 5:40am flight to Delhi. After landing at 8am, you travel three hours by expressway to Agra. A private guide meets you there and takes you first to the Taj Mahal, the UNESCO World Heritage tomb built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century as a monument to his wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. You get a golf cart ride to and from the monument entrance. After lunch, you visit Agra Fort, another UNESCO site built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 from red sandstone, where the courtyards and chambers reflect Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The return journey leaves Agra in the afternoon, with a three-hour drive back to Delhi airport and an evening flight to Hyderabad.
