The experience

The tour starts with a 6am pickup from your Hyderabad hotel and transfer to the airport for a flight to Delhi. After landing, you drive three hours by expressway to Agra, arriving in the early evening. Your first stop is Mehtab Bagh, a garden on the Yamuna's left bank across from the Taj Mahal, designed by Shah Jahan to view the monument on moonlit nights. You watch the sunset over the marble from there before heading to your hotel for the night.

Day two begins at 6am for the drive to the Taj Mahal. You enter before sunrise and watch the white marble shift through shades of pink and gold as the light comes up. The monument is closed Fridays, and the visit is subject to weather. After sunrise, you take a golf cart ride through the grounds. A lunch break follows, then you move on to Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 from red sandstone. The fort's courtyards, mosques and private chambers trace the Mughal Empire's history. You have time for shopping in Agra before the three-hour drive back to Delhi, arriving around 7pm for your return flight to Hyderabad. Hotel drop-off in Hyderabad completes the tour.

A professional live guide travels with you throughout in English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of two other languages. All transfers use an air-conditioned private vehicle.
