There’s something about arriving at the Taj Mahal just as the city wakes up. The air feels cool, almost damp, and you can catch the faint smell of chai drifting from a nearby tea stall. Our driver picked us up right from the hotel lobby—no fuss, no waiting around. As we pulled up to the gates, our guide handed out shoe covers and water bottles (trust me, you’ll want both). Walking through the gardens, I noticed how the marble changed color with the early light—soft pinks fading into bright white. It’s quieter in the morning, too. You hear birds more than people.
