The experience
The day starts at Grand Etang National Park, Grenada's largest forest reserve, where you walk the trails looking for the island's wild monkeys before the heat peaks. From there you head to Belmont Estate, a working plantation that has operated for two centuries. At the plantation house you'll see how cocoa gets processed into chocolate, taste the different varieties they make, and sit down to an authentic local lunch in the restaurant. The whole stop is built around watching the process happen, not a museum display, but the actual work of the estate.
River Antoine Rum Distillery comes next. It's the oldest on the island and still uses equipment that's 250 years old. The tour walks you through how rum gets made from start to finish, and you taste it at the end. The distillery is small and genuinely functional, not a polished visitor center, so you see the actual operation rather than a recreation of one.
An air-conditioned vehicle moves you between the three stops, and your guide speaks English throughout. The timing is tight, about 6 to 7 hours total, so most of the day is spent at the sites themselves rather than in transit.

Is this one for you? This tour works best for small groups or families who want to see how Grenada actually works (the plantation, the distillery, the forest) rather than just pass through the sites. The fixed route and timing mean you hit all three in one day, which saves you arranging separate visits.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
What's the monkey situation at Grand Etang National Park, do you see them on every tour?
Grand Etang is home to wild monkeys and the park gives you a chance to spot them, but sightings depend on the time of day and how active they are. The hike through the forest reserve is the main draw regardless.
How much time do you actually spend at Belmont Estate?
Belmont Estate takes up a solid chunk of the day. You tour the chocolate-making process, taste the chocolates they produce, and eat lunch at the plantation house restaurant, so it's not a quick stop.
Is the rum tasting included, or do I pay extra at River Antoine?
The rum tasting is part of the tour. Entrance fees to all three sites are included in the price.
What kind of food is served at lunch?
Lunch is authentic local cuisine served at the Belmont Estate plantation house restaurant as part of the tour.
Do I need to be fit to hike Grand Etang?
The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. The hike through the national park is part of the day, but the pace is manageable for most travelers.
