Step-by-step itinerary

Explore fort, waterfall, and lunch

  • Visit Fort Frederick on Morne Jaloux ridge

The experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel or a meeting point, then heads straight into an open-air truck for the ride to Fort Frederick. The fort sits on the Morne Jaloux ridge and dates to the 1700s. From up there the views sweep across the island. After Fort Frederick, the truck follows the eastern coastline toward Mt. Carmel Waterfalls, and the guide talks through Grenada's history and culture as you go.

Mt. Carmel Waterfalls (also called Marquis Falls) is the island's highest waterfall, dropping 70 feet into a pool below. You get time to swim in the falls and take photos. The lush vegetation around the pool is what makes it feel secluded. After the waterfall, the tour heads south to La Sagesse Nature Center, a small beachside restaurant where lunch waits. The restaurant sits on white sand with palms hanging out over the water, and the meal is homemade local food: chicken or fish, salad and rice. Once lunch is done, the truck returns you to your hotel or meeting point.
