The experience

The boat leaves from your chosen port and cruises past Dubrovnik's city walls, St. John, Bokar, Revelin, Lovrijenac and Minčeta towers visible from the water: before heading to the Blue Cave. You'll spend roughly 45 minutes there: the boat anchors about 20 meters offshore, and you swim to the cave entrance, which is too narrow for the boat itself. The glowing blue water comes from natural sunlight reflecting off the seabed, and snorkeling masks and breathing tubes are provided, along with floaties if you want them.

After the cave, the route takes you to Koločep, a car-free island in the Elaphiti group where you'll have around an hour and a half to explore. Two villages (Donje Čelo and Gornje Čelo) are linked by shaded paths through pine and olive groves. Beaches like Donje Čelo have shallow, calm water for swimming and snorkeling, while hidden coves appeal to stronger swimmers. You can wander the island, sit at a seaside café, or visit pre-Romanesque churches like St. Nicholas. On the way to the next stop, a cold platter arrives: cheese, local prosciutto and pickled vegetables, with unlimited wine, water, soft drinks and cola throughout the day.

The final stop is Lopud, where you'll have around two hours. The Franciscan Monastery and botanical garden are worth a walk, and Sunj Bay offers golden sand and calm water for swimming. Local restaurants and shops line the village streets. Life jackets are available for anyone who wants one, and the pace is yours: some people swim the whole time, others explore the villages or rest at a bar.
