The tunnel system stretches 121 kilometers underground and was used during the Vietnam War: 30,000 U.S. troops attacked the area, including B-52 bombing runs that dropped 30-ton payloads, and the tunnels held. You crawl through a section yourself, which is tight and disorienting and makes the engineering suddenly real. The guide walks you through how fighters concealed cooking smoke, lived underground for days, and turned the jungle into a working stronghold. If you want, there's a shooting range where you can fire an AK-47, though that's optional. The day wraps around 6 or 7 PM when you're back at your hotel.
