The experience

The day starts with a drive to Cu Chi, where you crawl through the intricate tunnel network: narrow passageways that open into hidden kitchens, bunkers, hospitals and meeting rooms. After exploring the tunnels on foot, you watch a documentary that explains how locals engineered the traps and sustained the underground system during the war. This part of the tour is self-paced. You move through the tunnels at your own speed and spend as long as you want at each chamber.

Around midday you eat a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant, then head to My Tho in the Mekong Delta. From there, you board a motorboat to cruise the Mekong River and visit the Four Animal Islands (Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Turtle), where you watch how people live and work along the water. The boat then turns into smaller canals that wind through fruit orchards, coconut groves and bee farms. You taste honey tea, seasonal fruits and coconut candy while a musician plays traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music. The return to your hotel is by van.

The tour operates with a choice of group sizes: Regular Group, Luxury Group (12 or 16 passengers), VIP Limousine Group (9 passengers) or Private Tour. All options include the guide, entrance fees, lunch and transport. An optional shooting activity is available at extra cost for travelers 18 and older. Ammunition is paid separately.
