The experience

The tour starts with pickup from your central Ho Chi Minh City hotel or a designated meeting point, then travels by air-conditioned vehicle toward the tunnels about an hour away. Once you arrive, your guide walks you through the underground network: showing you hidden entrances, living quarters, bunkers and wartime facilities while explaining how people survived and communicated beneath the surface during the Vietnam War. You'll crawl through an accessible tunnel section yourself, which is where most travelers get a real sense of the cramped conditions and the engineering involved.

After exploring the tunnels, you taste traditional cassava and tea before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City. The whole experience runs 6 to 7 hours door-to-door. Bottled water is provided throughout, and all entrance tickets are included in the price. You're not paying extra at the gate.
