The experience
The morning starts with a drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi, roughly an hour and a half by air-conditioned bus. Before entering the tunnels, you watch a video explaining how the tunnel system was built and how people survived underground during wartime. Then you move through the remaining sections on foot: living quarters with kitchens and bedrooms, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and the hidden trap doors and dangerous traps that secured the tunnels during the war. The guide walks you through the maze-like layout and explains the daily lives of Cu Chi soldiers. Afterward, you're served special tea and cassava, the food guerrillas ate during the conflict, followed by a break.
Lunch at a local restaurant comes next, then the tour shifts south to the Mekong Delta. You board a boat at My Tho city and cruise the Tien River, passing four islands (Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise) that line the waterway. A smaller sampan takes you through narrow canals into the countryside, where you cycle briefly around a village. The tour includes a stop at a coconut candy workshop and a tasting of seasonal fruit with honey tea. Local musicians perform traditional Southern Vietnamese folk songs, and you return to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon.
The tour runs 10 to 11 hours total. Your English-speaking guide stays with the group throughout. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and the itinerary covers entrance fees, all meals listed, mineral water, and air-conditioned transport. If you're 18 or older, you can add shooting range access at checkout. This option is not available for younger travelers.

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (9 to 17 years); Child (3 to 8 years); Infant (1 to 2 years): free.
What exactly is inside the Cu Chi Tunnels that I'll see?
The Cu Chi Tunnels contain living areas with kitchens and bedrooms, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers: all built underground to support soldiers during the war. You also see hidden trap doors and dangerous traps designed for security. The remaining sections are still intact and walkable, and your guide explains how people lived and worked in these conditions.
How long do I spend in the tunnels versus the Mekong Delta?
The morning focuses on Cu Chi Tunnels, including the video, exploration and lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to the Mekong Delta, with the boat trip on the Tien River, village cycling, and the coconut candy workshop visit. The full tour runs 10 to 11 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off.
What are the four islands I'll see on the boat trip?
The Tien River cruise passes Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands. You view them from the boat as you travel through the Mekong Delta near My Tho city, and the sampan takes you through smaller canals into the surrounding countryside as well.
Can I shoot guns on this tour, and what's the age requirement?
Shooting range access is available as an optional add-on at checkout, but only for travelers 18 years old and above. If you choose this option, you'll use real guns at a designated range. It's not included in the base tour price.

You get lunch at a local restaurant with Vietnamese cuisine, plus special tea and cassava (traditional guerrilla food) served at Cu Chi Tunnels, and seasonal fruit with honey tea at the coconut candy workshop. Mineral water is provided throughout the day.
