The experience

The boat leaves Koh Lanta at 9am and reaches Koh Rok within an hour. Your first two snorkeling stops happen back-to-back in the morning: each one at a different reef section, so you see more coral formations and fish species than a single site would show. The water is clear enough to spot the reef structure from the surface, and the guide stays in the water with your group.

Lunch is served on the beach at Koh Rok itself: a buffet spread laid out on the sand, with soft drinks, water and fresh fruit available throughout the day. After eating, you have time to swim, walk the white sand, or rest in the shade. Monitor lizards live on the island and sometimes appear near the beach. By 1:30pm the boat departs for Koh Haa, about an hour away, where the third snorkel happens in water so clear it looks shallow even when it is deep. Limestone cliffs rise straight from the sea here, and the reef sits close to the boat.

The return journey takes an hour. You are back at your hotel by 4pm. Snorkeling gear, passenger insurance, and all transfers are included. Children from age 4 can join, though an additional charge applies for kids aged 3–11. The boat has a restroom on board.

Is this one for you?Small groups keep the snorkel sites less crowded than the day-tripper boats from larger resorts, so you spend more time actually underwater and less time waiting on the boat between stops. The fixed schedule (three reefs, lunch, and return by 4pm) fits easily into a single day without an overnight stay.
