The experience

The tour opens in Tarangire National Park, where a full day of game drives takes you through acacia woodland and giant baobab trees into swamp areas that draw massive elephant herds during the dry season. The park is home to three rare species found nowhere else in such concentration: the greater kudu, fringe-eared oryx, and ashy starlings. You stay overnight in a comfortable lodge with hot showers and prepared meals.

From there the route climbs through the scenic highlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending into the Serengeti's endless plains. Two full days in Serengeti give you time to track lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, wild dogs, and the wildebeest migration across diverse habitats centered on the Seronera River, a permanent water source that concentrates wildlife year-round. Nights are spent in a tented camp with the same lodge amenities.

The final two days focus on Ngorongoro Crater, where a permanent water supply and rich grazing support around 30,000 animals in one of Africa's most densely populated wildlife areas. The crater is one of the few places in Tanzania where you have a realistic chance of seeing black rhinos, alongside massive herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, hippo, and elephants, plus a high concentration of predators: lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards. Picnic lunches happen on the crater floor itself before the return to Moshi in the late afternoon.

Is this one for you? This is a private tour, so the guide and vehicle are yours alone for the full five days: ideal if you want to set the pace, linger on wildlife sightings, and move between parks without coordinating with other groups. The five-day span covers all three parks in one journey, which means you see the full range of Tanzania's ecosystems without repeating terrain or backtracking.

Top questions

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (15 to 17 years); Child (3 to 14 years): free; Infant (1 year): free.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What animals am I likely to see on this 5-day safari?

Tarangire is known for some of Africa's largest elephant herds, plus greater kudu, fringe-eared oryx, and ashy starlings. Serengeti holds lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, wild dogs, elands, gazelles, and the wildebeest migration. Ngorongoro Crater, home to around 30,000 animals, offers chances to see black rhinos, wildebeest, zebra, hippo, elephants, and high numbers of predators including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards.

Does the tour include accommodation and meals?

Yes. You stay in comfortable lodges and tented camps equipped with hot showers, and all meals are prepared for you throughout the safari. Accommodation varies by night (some stays are in lodges, others in tented camps), but all include the same amenities and meal service.

What is included in the price?

The tour includes the 4x4 land cruiser safari vehicle, all accommodation on the route, all meals, water bottles, and parking fees for the parks. A live guide who speaks English, Spanish, or French is with you for the full five days. Hotel pickup is included. You arrange your own transport to the meeting point in Moshi.

How does the Ngorongoro Crater differ from the other parks on this tour?

Ngorongoro is a crater rather than a sprawling park, so the wildlife is concentrated in one contained area with permanent water and year-round grazing. This density (around 30,000 animals in a single crater) makes it one of Africa's most wildlife-rich sites and one of the few places where black rhinos are regularly sighted. The crater floor itself is where you take your picnic lunch, giving you a close view of the animals in their habitat.

Is this tour private or shared with other travelers?

This is a private safari, meaning you book the 4x4 vehicle and guide for your group alone. The vehicle seats multiple passengers comfortably with luggage space, and the guide is dedicated to your party for all five days.
