A six-day safari from Arusha through Tanzania's major parks: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, with an experienced driver-guide, all park fees, accommodation and meals on safari included. You start in Arusha, drive to each park over five days of game drives, and return to the airport on day six. The Experience

The safari departs Arusha early on day two for Lake Manyara National Park, where you spend your first night on the road. A driver-guide leads the game drive along the shores of the shallow alkaline lake and through acacia woodlands, with a picnic lunch included. Day three is a 222-kilometer, five-hour journey northwest through the Rift Valley to Serengeti National Park — the sheer scale of the plains is the highlight for first-time visitors, and you'll wake there the next morning to start a game drive before the heat builds.

Day four moves you eastward to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You'll spend the night at the lodge, then on day five depart at 6am to reach the crater rim and descend into it. The Ngorongoro Crater holds around 120 lions with defined territories, 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebra, 400 hyenas and roughly 50 black rhino — a closed ecosystem unlike anywhere else. After a morning game drive inside the crater and a picnic lunch, you drive four and a half hours south to Tarangire National Park for your final night.

Day six is a morning game drive in Tarangire, where the landscape spans nearly 3,000 square kilometers and the density of wildlife can rival Serengeti. Buffalo, lion, wildebeest, zebra and gazelle move through diverse terrain — what you see depends on where the animals are that day. After lunch, it's a three-hour drive back to Arusha Airport. Your driver-guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language, and all park fees, accommodation with meals on safari, soft drinks, coffee, tea and water during game drives are included. Breakfast and lunch on the final day are covered; dinner is not.

The safari offers Comfort, Comfort Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus lodging. You choose your level at checkout; all four options include the same parks, game drives, guide and meals on safari. Comfort Plus and Luxury options add all drinks and laundry services at the lodges, which Comfort does not include.

How much wildlife will I actually see in Ngorongoro Crater?

Ngorongoro Crater is a closed ecosystem with a fixed population: roughly 120 lions, 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebra, 400 hyenas and around 50 black rhino. The crater's boundaries mean animals don't migrate in or out, so the concentration is high and sightings are frequent, though what you see on any given morning depends on where the herds are.

Is the drive to Serengeti really five hours?

Yes, the journey from Lake Manyara to Serengeti is approximately 222 kilometers and takes around five hours, following the Rift Valley. You'll collect a packed lunch before you leave and eat on the way or at the park.

What meals and drinks are included during the six days?

Dinner and overnight accommodation are included in Arusha on day one. On safari days two through five, all meals are included (breakfast, lunch and dinner) plus soft drinks, coffee, tea and water during game drives. On the final day, breakfast and lunch are included; dinner is not. Alcoholic drinks and laundry are included only in Comfort Plus and Luxury options.

Do I need to arrange my own flights to Tanzania?

International and domestic flights are optional add-ons at checkout, not included in the base safari price. Visas and travel or medical insurance are also optional. The safari itself includes airport pickup in Arusha on arrival and return transport to the airport on day six.

Can I bring young children or infants on this safari?

Infants and small children can travel; infants can ride in a pram or stroller, or sit on an adult's lap. Specialized infant seats are available. The operator does not recommend this safari for pregnant travelers or for travelers with poor cardiovascular health, though it is suitable for all other fitness levels.
