The Experience

How do you see three of Tanzania's largest wildlife reserves without spending days arranging logistics? You book this five-day loop: the driver picks you up in Arusha, handles all the driving and navigation, and you move through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro on a fixed itinerary with everything — transport, camps, meals — already reserved. The 4x4 vehicle is built for game drives; the driver is your guide and stays with the group the whole way.

Day one takes you to Tarangire National Park, where the river and swamps draw massive elephant herds, especially in the dry season. You do a full day game drive with a picnic lunch on the park floor, then overnight at one of three lodges in the park. Day two is the long drive to Serengeti through Karatu's farmland and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending into the central Seronera area — one of the richest wildlife zones in the park. Days three and four stay in the Serengeti: a full day game drive on day three, then a morning drive before heading toward Ngorongoro on day four. The final day takes you into Ngorongoro Crater itself, where you descend to the crater floor for a game drive and picnic lunch. The crater holds an estimated 30,000 animals year-round, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras and hippos. Late afternoon you drive back to Arusha.

Accommodation alternates between lodges and tented camps, all with hot showers and self-contained rooms. Meals — breakfast, lunch and dinner — are included for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. You get 1.5 liters of drinking water per day. The guide speaks English and stays with your group throughout. Tips to the driver-guide and cook are your choice at the end.
