The Experience

You meet your pilot and get fitted with a helmet, then ride in an air-conditioned vehicle to the launch site. The pilot handles the takeoff—you're strapped in tandem, so your job is to stay relaxed and look around. Once airborne, you're suspended beneath the paraglide canopy, watching the terrain drop away and the island's geography unfold below: the volcanic slopes, the ridgelines, the coast where the land meets the Atlantic. The pilot controls the glide and the descent; you experience the weightlessness and the view.

The flight lasts roughly 90 minutes from start to finish, though actual airtime varies depending on wind and thermals. You'll get bottled water before or after the flight. Landing is controlled by the pilot—you'll feel the ground come up, then step out and walk away. Children as young as five can fly, and the company welcomes all fitness levels, though anyone over 115kg isn't able to participate.

Four flight options let you choose the terrain and intensity. The Standard and Recommended flights cover the mountains and coast; the Performance flight pushes higher and longer; the Teide flight takes you toward Teide National Park and the volcanic peaks. Your pilot speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of two other languages, so communication is straightforward. Pickup from your hotel or a central point is part of the booking.
