Fly tandem over three sides of Tenerife in one hour

Tandem paragliding over Tenerife takes you 1000 meters into the air with a pilot who handles the equipment while you take in views of the island's South, North and Teide National Park. You'll launch from a mountain site, stay aloft for around an hour, and land back on solid ground with the option to buy photos and video of the flight.

The experience

The flight itself lasts about an hour, and you're harnessed to an experienced pilot who does the flying while you sit back and watch the landscape unfold below. Tenerife's position in the Atlantic and its varied terrain (from coastal lowlands to the volcanic slopes of Teide) create stable air currents most of the year, so conditions rarely force a cancellation. You'll see the island from angles ground-level travel can't reach: the southern coast, the northern side, and the high volcanic terrain of Teide National Park all visible in a single flight.

Pickup is included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the launch site. Safety equipment comes with the booking. If you want photos or video of your flight, those are available at an extra cost and captured during the time you're in the air. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and one additional language, so language won't be a barrier to understanding the setup or asking questions before you launch.

What does the actual flying feel like when you're strapped to the paraglider?

You're harnessed securely to the pilot in a seated position, so you're not controlling the glider. The pilot handles all the steering and altitude. The sensation is more floating than falling. You'll feel the thermals (warm air currents) lift you higher, and you'll notice the wind but not the speed the way you would in a plane. Most people describe it as peaceful rather than thrilling, since there's no engine noise and the view dominates your attention.

Can I see Teide National Park clearly from 1000 meters up?

Teide National Park is visible from the flight, along with the South and North of the island. The 1000-meter altitude gives you a wide view of the terrain, though how much detail you see depends on weather and visibility that day. The operator also offers a 2250-meter option if you want to go higher and see more of the island's geography.

What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of my flight?

Paragliding depends on wind and air conditions, so flights can be rescheduled if conditions aren't safe on your booked day. The operator will work with you to find another time during your stay in Tenerife.

Do I need any experience or special fitness to paraglide?

No paragliding experience is needed since you're flying with a pilot who does all the work. You should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness, and the activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or poor cardiovascular health.
