The experience
Eight hours on a private sailing yacht means you set the pace and the stops. The boat leaves from Marsamxett Harbour in the center of the island, and from there the skipper steers north or south depending on conditions and what you want to see. Head north and you pass Sliema's waterfront, sail by St. Paul's Islands (where the apostle was shipwrecked), and reach Comino's Blue Lagoon and Crystal Lagoon for swimming and snorkeling in water so clear you see the seabed. Head south instead and you cruise past St. Peter's Pool, a natural swimming spot ringed by limestone cliffs, then past the Ħofriet and Munxar Windows (natural sea arches carved into the rocky coast), and the 17th-century St. Thomas Tower built by the Knights of St. John. Either way, you're moving under sail, not motoring past a dozen other boats.
Snorkeling gear and paddleboards are on board. The yacht has an outdoor shower to rinse off salt water and a Bluetooth sound system. Soft drinks and water flow freely throughout the day. The boat itself is built for comfort over speed: twin helms in the cockpit give you room to move around, and electric heads mean no manual pumping. A skipper who knows these waters runs the boat. You swim, snorkel, soak up sun and watch the forts and caves slip past. If you want a host to manage the day's details, that's available at an extra charge.
The full eight hours includes sailing time, so you're not spending all of it at anchor. Weather permitting shapes the route (some days the north route works better, some days the south), and the skipper will tell you what's realistic when you book. Infants must sit on an adult's lap. The boat is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries or serious heart conditions, and there's a weight limit of 120kg. Let the operator know if you can't swim and if you have any medical conditions that matter on the water.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between heading north and south from Marsamxett Harbour?
North takes you to St. Paul's Islands and Comino's Blue Lagoon and Crystal Lagoon for snorkeling. South heads toward St. Peter's Pool and the natural sea arches (Ħofriet and Munxar Windows) plus historic forts like St. Thomas Tower. The skipper will advise which route works best on the day you go.
Is snorkeling gear included, and do I need to bring my own swimsuit?
Snorkeling equipment is included on the yacht. You'll need to bring your own swimsuit, towel and any sun protection you want. The boat has an outdoor shower to rinse off afterward.
How many people can fit on the private yacht?
The yacht accommodates up to eight guests in your private booking, so your group travels alone on the boat.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
The route and timing depend on weather conditions. The skipper will confirm what's possible when you book and will work with you to reschedule if conditions make sailing unsafe.
Are meals and alcohol included in the eight-hour tour?
Soft drinks and water are included throughout the day. Food, alcohol and any other beverages are not included, so bring what you want to eat and drink.
