The experience
How do you fit two of Jordan's most visited sites into one trip without rushing? This tour leaves Amman for Petra on day one, giving you a full afternoon and evening to walk the Siq (the 1,200-meter canyon that opens onto the Treasury facade), and explore the Street of Facades, the Theatre, and the Roman Street at your own pace. The Monastery, which sits around 900 steps higher, is reachable if you have the time and energy. You overnight at a hotel in Petra itself, so there's no long drive back to the capital.
Day two moves you into the desert. After breakfast, you transfer to Wadi Rum, where a Bedouin driver takes you on a 2-hour 4x4 safari through sand dunes, past Thamudic inscriptions carved into the rock, and toward the sunset. The landscape shifts through shades of rose, brown, red and gold as the light changes. You stay overnight in a Bedouin tent camp, where dinner and Bedouin tea are part of the experience. This is the setup that lets you see the desert as it actually is, not as a day trip from a city hotel. On the morning of day three, you watch the sunrise before the transfer back to Amman.
All transfers use a brand-new vehicle, and the operator asks you to reconfirm your pickup a day before departure. Bring a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. The Siq walk is steady but not steep, and the 4x4 ride is on sand and rough terrain. Entry to Petra costs 50 JD and entry to Wadi Rum costs 7 JD. If you want a local guide at either site, or if you'd prefer a hot air balloon ride over the 4x4 safari, you can add those at checkout.
What’s included

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 6 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What exactly is the Siq at Petra?
The Siq is a 1,200-meter canyon carved through rose-red sandstone that leads to Petra's most famous facade, the Treasury. You walk through it on foot, and the canyon walls narrow and open in a way that makes the carved city appear suddenly as you emerge.
Do I have time to see the Monastery at Petra, or is it rushed?
The Monastery is reachable (it's around 900 steps up from the main site), but it's optional and depends on your pace and fitness. The tour gives you free time after the main sights to explore on your own, so you can decide whether to make the climb.
What is the Bedouin camp like in Wadi Rum?
You sleep in a Bedouin tent and eat dinner there, experiencing the desert lifestyle as it's lived. The camp includes Bedouin tea and hospitality as part of the overnight stay, and you wake early enough to watch the sunrise before leaving.
Is the 4x4 drive in Wadi Rum rough, or is it comfortable?
The 4x4 safari lasts about two hours and covers sand dunes and desert terrain with a Bedouin driver who shows you rock inscriptions and the landscape's colored cliffs. It's designed for the terrain, but bring water and wear comfortable clothes. The desert sun is intense.
Can I add a hot air balloon ride instead of the 4x4 safari?
Yes, a hot air balloon tour in Wadi Rum is available as an add-on option at checkout, so you can choose which experience suits you better.
