The experience
The class starts in the kitchen of Borgo Santa Lucia with a walk through the menu. Everything built around what's in season and what grows within kilometers of the agriturismo. You'll learn why seasonality matters to Tuscan cooking, then get your hands into the work: vegetable cuts change depending on what you're making, seasoning and sauce prep come next, and then you move to the dough. Homemade pasta means your hands in it, shaping tortellini and ravioli, and the sauces that go with them simmer while you move on to the roasts and stews that define the region's food.
Desserts close the cooking (both the dry kind and spoon desserts), and when everything is done, you sit down together at a table with the food you've made and drink good wine. The apron stays with you after, a tangible reminder that you built this meal from the ground up.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What do I actually make during the cooking class?
You prepare fresh pasta by hand (tortellini and ravioli), make multiple sauces including ones with long cooking times, prepare typical Tuscan roasts and stews, cut vegetables using proper technique for each use, and finish with both dry desserts and spoon desserts. Everything you cook becomes the meal you eat together at the end.
Is this class suitable for someone with no cooking experience?
Yes. The class is designed for hands-on learning, and the guide walks you through each step. You'll learn vegetable cutting, dough work, seasoning and sauce preparation as part of the experience, not as prerequisites.
What happens after we finish cooking?
You sit together at a table and eat the full menu you've prepared, paired with wine. This shared meal is part of the class, not something separate.
Can I bring the apron home?
Yes. You take home a Borgo Santa Lucia apron as a keepsake of the experience.
